ORIGINAL FINE ART
“No Tears” 19” x 25” pencil and mixed media on news print
I began this work with the color. I never quite know how the colors I use will turn out and I was very excited by this one. I knew immediately that I would finally use the image of the mouth and bloody fingers. I assumed that this would end up being a piece about self harm but it turned into something very different as it moved forward and grew. Looking at the finished piece now, I believe it to be about the very toxic masculine spaces I used to inhabit. It was a world where feelings were not permitted and where the objectification of women was as natural as breathing. The central masked figure is an original pencil sketch. The rest of the work consists of: ink, acrylic, found images/objects. All original art includes a signed certificate of authenticity. Please feel free to email with questions: mynameisidenart@gmail.com
